A recent interview I did with Alex Sherman, the CEO of Bath Preservation Trust, about their plans to create a mini ‘Georgian-styled Garden’ in the basement courtyard of No 1 the Royal Crescent, has had nearly 1,500 ‘hits’ since being published!

That’s a great response, but I wanted to mention another Georgian Garden that has been open to the public for many years.

It’s accessed on the Gravel Path side of number 4, The Circus and has looked pretty miserable in recent years. Box blight didn’t help, but when I paid a recent visit l did notice a marked improvement in its general condition.

The future of the house and garden lies in the hands of B&NES, but in the meantime, it’s good to see things looking up.

However, the information board that faces you on entering the garden needs some urgent attention. It’s defaced state is enough to put anyone off venturing any further.
