Take Pride.

This coming June is ‘Pride Month‘, and to mark that, Bath Record Office at the Guildhall will be displaying posters and magazines from the GayWest archive.

GayWest and its predecessors, Campaign for Homosexual Equality (CHE Bristol), founded in 1970, and Bath Gay Awareness Group (BGAG), founded in 1971, is one of the oldest continuing LGBTQ+ social and support groups in England.

The Gay West archive was deposited with the Bath Record Office in 2023 and offers a rich historical resource about the LGBTQ+ community in Bath from 1974 to 2020.

The display case is located at the top of the stairs leading down to the Record Office. Entrance is via the main entrance to the Guildhall.

The displays are free to enjoy and open to the public during regular Guildhall opening hours, 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

There is step-free access to the Guildhall via the entrance to the Guildhall Market to the left of the main entrance.
