We’ve been without a Mayor of Bath since March when Cllr Dr Bharat Pankhania resigned the post following the uproar over his reposting of conspiracy theories on social media.
The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Ian Halsall, has, in the meantime, all but worn the chain to keep the mayoralty alive.
On Saturday, June 6th, things should get back to normal when the 799th Mayor of the city will be elected. That’s going to be Cllr Ruth Molloy with Cllr Onka Saini as deputy.

All this will happen during the annual meeting of the Charter Trustees at Bath Abbey.
Could be a shorter meeting, and l assume the Deputy Mayor will have to give the speech.
