Celebrating difference

Good to hear that Bath Pride will be returning this year on Saturday, 22nd August. This will mark its third year as a growing fixture in the city’s summer calendar.

Five core principles guide the event: being affirming, justice-led, grassroots, vibrant and safe, with a focus on amplifying marginalised voices within the LGBTQIA+ community.

A Pride march through the city centre will take place from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, with organisers inviting residents and visitors alike to join a visible celebration of solidarity and pride for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Following the march, ‘Pride in the Park’ will run at Sydney Gardens from 1:30 pm, featuring a free programme of live music, performances, community organisations and independent stalls.

New for 2026, Bath Pride will also introduce ‘The Late Stage’ from 6:00 pm onwards at Sydney Gardens, an 18+ evening programme designed to continue the celebrations into the night.

Phoenix Dewberry (they/them), founder of Safe Space Bath, says, “Showing up for each other matters, especially right now. This year, we are loudly centring solidarity with our trans and nonbinary community: Stand Up, Show Up.”

Bath Pride is a volunteer-led, grassroots charity, funded through donations and support from local independent businesses. Organisers say this approach helps keep the event accessible while staying rooted in the community.

Donations can be made on the day or online at https://bathpride.org/about/support-us/
