Pic of the day. Friday, April 17th

We’re back from York and what a delightful picture to find amongst many emails that will need answering.

At last, one of my long-term ‘street-scape’ criticisms is being dealt with.

Cllr Kevin Guy, leader of B&NES, sent me the picture with the following message:

‘Hi Richard, I know this is an issue you and me have both raised with the councils estate and heritage team.

Arriving at work this morning I was pleased to see expert stone masons busy working on the historic steps of the Guildlhall.

I am so very proud of our cities amazing heritage and preserving it for future generations, especially in these tough Financial Times is so important.

After clearing and checking the stone, work to fix them will take place, at a later date a special stone dust mix will be placed between the stone to ensure several more hundreds of years use.’

What you could call one step in the right direction! Thanks for that.

  1. Priority over potholes and the daily traffic chaos of Bath. Cannot wait to see the chaos with the closing of Manvers Street.
No wonder we are fifth in traffic congestion for UK,

  2. Thank you Richard.
What a pity the Council appear not to care what’s round the corner in Westgate Street- pavings ripped up and replaced by lumpy tarmac, natural stone kerbs not replaced leading to dangerous pavements and a carriageway in appalling state.
