Sat in the garden for an hour or two – reading James Nestor’s Breath – and spotted this little fellow had settled on some new leaf growth.

It’s a European Peacock butterfly – recognised by its striking ‘eye spots’ and one of the earliest of its kind you will see every year. A sure sign of spring getting underway.
