Here’s another little mini exhibition of items from the archives that you can view for free.
Pop into Bath’s Guildhall and head for the stairs that lead to the Record Office in the basement.
If you want to use its facilities, you have to make an appointment, but you can, at that point, view a wonderful display of items from its collections.
The current one is entitled Going to the Ball and features items showing what you may have had to think about and prepare before attending such a glamorous function in 18th-century Bath.
Everything from choosing a dress and its decorations, or maybe a new hairstyle. You may have to brush up on your dance steps and revisit your book of etiquette.
