Terribly sad to lose that building. And beggars belief that an architectural solution couldn’t be found to satisfy the needs of the fire service.
Such a fine building and such a shame that it cannot be re-purposed in order to continue to perform the function for which it was originally intended. There is so much new and incredibly ugly architecture in Bath, that one suspects the new fire station will be another increasingly unimpressive eyesore. Will we never learn the lessons of the ‘Sack of Bath’?
Let’s hope they save the stone panel from above the middle door
