It’s true that I go on about the mess outside the entrance to the Roman Bath’s shop, but it’s not the most attractive sight for locals and our visitors to come upon.
I know it has something to do with the vault-strengthening work that has been going on under this spot and down Bath Street, but for how much longer will the fencing stay?
I am hoping to have a clearer picture later in the week, but for now, this is as good as it gets in terms of local authority comment.
‘We hope to remove the pedestrian barriers in Stall Street within the next couple of weeks – subject to ongoing monitoring of underground structures.
Monitoring and design work continue, and dependent on this, we may have to reinstate barriers in the future.’
