I managed to find a window in the weather to cycle into town this morning and – on part of the way – do a rough recording of the state of the roads under my two wheels.

I have become very aware that many inner-city roads are now becoming quite a challenge for cyclists.

It’s not just potholes; there are sunken trenches, and the whole road surface is often fractured and broken.

Add icy conditions to that, and you create additional hazards.
I was on my way to meet Bath’s honorary Cycle Mayor, Pete Dyson, to get his take on the issue.

But first, let’s see what that crude camera on my jacket actually recorded.
I have approached B&NES for comment.
