l last posted something about the fate of the Cleveland Pools on November 5th last month.
There was talk that, following the devastating flood damage, it might not be possible to reopen the lido.
That’s after spending more than nine million pounds restoring it – much of it Heritage Lottery Fund money.
It was my understanding that the Cleveland Pools Trust would be meeting with B&NES and the Heritage Lottery Fund towards the end of that month, when they would hope to agree on a joint statement.
Having not seen such a statement, l contacted B&NES and received the following comment from Cllr Pasul Roper, Cabinet Member for Economic and Cultural Sustainable Development, who said:
“The council is in contact with the Trust and NLHF to establish their next steps for the Cleveland Pools site, including how the Trust communicates those with the public as soon as possible.”
Sorry, not to be able to report any progress on this state of affairs.
A farce, from start to un-finish.
