My husband Darren was in town last night and able to capture some of the early evening atmosphere as this year’s Christmas Market opened for business.
Last night it was ‘locals night’ with discounts on offer if you had a ‘Discovery Card’, which is a must-have for local residents.
He also popped into the new Heal’s store, which has just opened on Milsom Street.
Last night was an invitation to celebrate the occasion and a chance to explore the beautifully designed new space.
Guests were greeted with a live band and an amazing grazing spread provided by local catering firm Wild Fig.
Welcome to Bath! Though l hear it’s not the first time a Heal has set foot in Bath.
Anne Buchanan, from Bath Record Office tells me: “Sir Ambrose Heal ‘retired’ to Bath in the 1930s. He returned to London to take over again when the war started. He donated many trade cards (business cards) to the Library when he left.”
At this time of the year we attempt to avoid Bath except for Banking. Today we made the trek to Trowbridge and bumped into a few Bath residents doing the same.
