Sad loss

My husband Darren has been out and about in the centre of Bath this morning and has sent me a couple of images to share with you.

The tree before its demise

The first is of the tree that stands at the M & S end of North Parade. Seems it came down during the deluge we had recently.

B&NES have said on Instagram: “Our teams are working to remove this tree, which came down in North Parade Buildings, Bath, on Saturday.

We’ve fenced the area off while work is underway. The footpath remains temporarily closed.”

The second image is a hint of what is to come. Yes, the first sheds/chalets have arrived for this year’s Christmas Market, which begins on November 27th.

  1. Help ! Not a fan….why dont they relocate the Christmas Markets to Parade Gardens cover the grass with whatever they cover grass with in football stadiums to accommodate footfall and sheds.
Of that doesn’t work there is the Rec which has good vehicular access and the grass can be covered in same way.
Then that would help everything in a better way for the residents of Bath who are not so keen on having our Abbey environs being filled with Christmas shoppers.
Can we have some creative thinking to take account of our needs during the early part of the lead up to Christmas.
Much fairer than the present ridiculous influx of shoppers from afar.
Plenty of Parking at the wreck and good access for stall holders.
I’m sure someone on the BANES COUNCIL council could do the necessary research to find a better venue than Abbey Green which does not support the elderly, vulnerable and disabled people who live here all the time, pay their taxes and actually dont see any specific returns for sacrificing our wellbeing, our council tax fund revenues and definitely is not good enough for the people of Bath to endure without a proper review of the present not so good an arrangement fir a significant proportion of Bath residents living and working in the city and living in the surrounding environment of Bath.
Please someone come forward with any other plan that might take precedent of the current one.
    Cheers
