RUH marks Armistice Day

Staff and patients gathered to mark Armistice Day today at the RUH, remembering military and civilian sacrifices made in conflicts across the world. 

The service, which took place in the garden of the hospital’s Spiritual Care Centre, included the two-minute silence, readings, the laying of a wreath and the Last Post.

The service was led by Lead Chaplain, the Reverend Prebendary Narinder Tegally DL and Team Chaplain Mark Pengelly.

Managing Director John Palmer read The Beatitudes, Chief Nursing Officer Toni Lynch read ‘A Wish’ by Maxine Kendall, the Last Post was played by Doctor Joe Barron-Snowdon, and the wreath was laid by Chief Executive of BSW Hospitals Group Cara Charles-Barks, who is also Honorary Colonel of 243 (Wessex) Multi-Role Medical Regiment.
