Pic of the day. Monday, September 8th

For several years, this shrub appeared as tall sticks with a few leaves on top. I have often said to my husband It’s dying, so let’s take it out.

Then, suddenly, this September, it bursts into life and the most beautiful blossom.

We discover it’s a pink crape myrtle tree – native to China and Korea, which just loves the sun.

Maybe the fact that we were blessed with so much of that this summer has spurred this shrub to announce its presence in our garden at last!
