I’m hearing the Rector of Bath Abbey, the Revd Canon Guy Bridgewater, is retiring in October..
He became the 29th Rector of the Abbey in November 2018, when he joined the church from Horsham in Sussex, where he had served as Team Rector and Rural Dean for 11 years.
The Revd Chantal Mason will be appointed as Acting Rector in the interregnum. She has been at the church for about three years as the Abbey Pastor.
It’s expected the Abbey will be without a Rector for between 9 and 12 months.
