Having secured the roof of the Victoria Art Gallery, it looks as if the Guildhall is next on the maintenance list when it comes to attending to ceiling leaks, with scaffolding appearing on its High Street facade.

Go easy on the budget for repairs, and maybe there might be enough left over to re-grout those stone steps that lead into what is, after all, our City Hall.

Must say l am impressed by the speed of the work down on the former gasworks site.

I saw on the planning application list that developers want to be able to wrap around information about their housing development on the hoardings surrounding the riverside site.

While walking along the Lower Bristol Road recently, l spotted another example of a bike rack that is not properly secured. They had enough problems sorting out the right sort of fitting on racks outside the Guildhall, which have to be taken away for Remembrance Day parades every year and then put back.

I don’t think that is necessary for the racks beside the Lower Bristol Road, but they need to be more anchored than they are if bike owners are going to feel confident about securing their bikes there..
I wish developers could think up some more original names for their project. I suppose mentioning the river is obligatory for sales but the similarities mean we are plagued with wrong deliveries by overworked couriers. We’ve got Riverview Court North and South, Bath Riverside, Victoria Bridge Court and now Bath Waterside. I don’t think Evri will cope! Come back Dunromin, everything is forgiven .
I rather the council spent money on repairs to buildings than waste it on unnecessary barriers and cycle ways that are not used.
