A bit of recent excitement in Kingsmead Square, captured on a smartphone by Nick Byatt.
“Thought this might be of interest. Smoke started to fill the Square and Monmouth Street at about 11.10, and the fire brigade turned up 10 minutes later with 7 appliances.
All seemed to be under control very soon after. Apparently a fire had started at the fish and chip shop. Smoke had occupied several buildings and floors on both sides of the Boston Tea Party building. All buildings along the row were cleared and inspected by the crew.
All while I was having a coffee across the Square at Society Cafe!”
