Visitors can explore the remarkably preserved remains of the 2,000-year-old bathing and temple complex, walk beside the steaming Great Bath, and discover the story of the Temple of Sulis Minerva in the award-winning museum.

The announcement comes as The Roman Baths launches its vibrant summer season, featuring extended evening openings and, for the first time, live music performances every Friday to Sunday. Set beside the atmospheric waters of the Great Bath, these ambient sessions offer a magical way to experience the site after hours.

The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards are based on reviews and ratings from travellers around the world over a 12-month period, making them a trusted reflection of visitor satisfaction and experience.

The Roman Baths open after hours for Summer Lates until 31 August, inviting visitors to experience the site in a completely new light, both literally and culturally. Alongside a new programme of music, guests can enjoy the magical ambience of torchlit evenings, a pop-up bar beside the Great Bath, and a relaxed, atmospheric setting every night of the week.

As dusk falls, the ancient stones are bathed in soft torchlight, creating an unforgettable backdrop for evening exploration. Visitors can sip a drink by the water’s edge, soak up the surroundings, or delve deeper into the site’s rich history with new guided tours designed especially for the evening hours.

From Monday to Thursday, The Roman Baths will remain open until 8 pm. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and the August Bank Holiday Monday, the site will stay open until 10 pm. Live music sessions will take place beside the Great Bath from 5.30 pm to 9 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering a unique blend of heritage, culture, and summer atmosphere.

This summer, experiencing the magic of Bath after hours is easier than ever. The city’s three Park & Ride services now run until 11:30 pm, Monday to Saturday—making it simple and convenient to enjoy a relaxing evening out in the city.

The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths is an award-winning museum and ancient monument with a designated on-site collection, located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath. The Romans built a magnificent temple and bathing complex on the site of Britain’s only hot spring, which still flows with naturally hot water. Visitors can walk around the steaming Great Bath where people bathed nearly 2,000 years ago, see the ruins of the Temple of Sulis Minerva where Roman worshippers gathered, and explore The Roman Baths museum. Costumed characters around the Great Bath tell tales of Roman times, and a free audio guide is available.

Summer Lates run from Monday 21 July – Sunday 31 August. From Monday to Thursday, the Roman Baths will remain open until 8 pm. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and the August Bank Holiday Monday, the site will stay open until 10 pm.
