Watering works wonders

Bath’s floral displays – be it in park-sited flower beds or streets filled with hanging baskets – add so much life and colour to our summer scene.

While for many visitors and residents, Parade Gardens might be the perfect place to lie and admire the surroundings, spare a thought for the Royal Horticultural Society judges, for whom this riverside park is the last port-of-call in a day of judging under a very hot sun.

We are currently RHS National Britain in Bloom Champions – until October that is – but today, our floral displays were being judged for this year’s RHS Southwest in Bloom competition.

With the judges finally totting up their scores, l had a chance to speak to the Chairman of Bath in Bloom, Steve Brook.
