Things were buzzing this morning on the lawns in front of the Royal Crescent as work began on creating the arena that will be needed to hold the thousands of people who will watch Robbie Williams perform over two nights on the 13th and 14th of June.

Judging by YouTube footage of his recent Scottish concert it’s going to be a massive stage under construction in front of those 30 Grade 1 listed houses over the next week.

Robbie’s historic 2025 concert will be a fitting way to celebrate 250 years since The Royal Crescent was built. One of the greatest examples of Georgian architecture anywhere in the UK, it is an important part of why the City of Bath as a whole was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1987.

I hear nearby residents have been given free tickets to compensate for putting up with the disruption that will be caused.
People in Marlborough Buildings are going to have to shaw some form of identity if they come and go on concert nights as the road in front of their home will be closed in an effort to deny non-ticket holders access to any of the action – sound or vision.

Robbie Williams is one of the most decorated music artists in the world with six of the Top 100 best-selling albums in British history, a huge 85 million album sales worldwide, 14 Number 1 singles and a record 18 BRIT Awards – more than any other artist in music history.
The two concerts are sold out of course. Robbie’s gig follows on from Michael Buble’ in 2022 and The Three Tenors back in 2003.
