A bus stop delight

Who said bus shelters have to be boring?

Our ‘Box correspondent’ Varian Tye sent me the following:

“Your readers may be interested in the second Box Shelter Mural at The Bassetts in Box, advertising the Wild Waters Festival https://wildwatersfestival.com/

It is located on the A4, just up from Brunel’s road bridge over the Great Western Railway.

They may notice the painting of a Box Dipper on one of the walls, and if so, they may be interested in The Dipper Walk, which will take place on the 3rd June https://wildwatersfestival.com/events/birding-walk-to-see-dippers-on-the-by-brook/

For those Brunel fans in Bath, I imagine there may be some because of his splendid Great Western Railway through the World Heritage Site, Brunel’s Grade II listed underbridge also forms part of the mural.

A historic footpath also runs over the top of the bridge from which you can get good views of the By Brook. It is being visited on the Three and a Half Mills Guided Walk during the festival.

One of the mills to be visited, Drewetts Mill, is understood to be the only listed Grade II* mill on the By Brook.

The guided walk is FREE. Further details are available at  https://wildwatersfestival.com/events/three-and-a-half-mills-guided-walk-along-by-brook-river/
