Good to hear that celebrated Bath theatre company Antic Disposition are coming back to Bath Abbey this summer with a joyous new promenade production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Running from 8 to 29 August, the production marks the company’s second summer Shakespeare production at the Abbey, following the award-winning success of Romeo and Juliet in 2024.

Antic Disposition invites you to step into a world where magic and mayhem collide in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Bath Abbey, the production will transform this majestic space into a shimmering, enchanted forest.

As the story unfolds, audiences will wander beneath the Abbey’s soaring arches and through its hidden corners, with the hilarity and charm of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy springing to life all around them.

Directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero, recipients of the prestigious Peter Brook Award, A Midsummer Night’s Dream marks Antic Disposition’s 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of immersive theatre in extraordinary historic locations across the UK and beyond.
