Wild Waters Festival

Varian Tye writes to tell me that he is helping Box Parish Council and Parish Councillor, Hazel Parker, in preparing for the Wild Waters Festival. – which will be a celebration of nature and community.

Various Councils, with their local communities, – he says – are celebrating the festival, for example Bathampton, Batheaston, Bathford , Box, Colerne, Bradford- on – Avon, Freshford and Claverton.

One of the events planned in Box is the By Brook River Exhibition, at Box Pavilion, on the 7th June from 10.00am to 4.00pm .

Varian says : “For further details of other events in Box and in other areas please refer to the following link https://wildwatersfestival.com/  and the attached poster for the Box By Brook River Exhibition.

In addition to the items planned for Box you may be interested in the attached photograph of The Box Kingfisher designed and embroidered by a local resident for a Wild Waters Festival Banner.

Furthermore, a group of local volunteers are painting murals in two of the local bus stops, owned by Box Parish Council, to advertise the festival.

The photograph attached is of the bus stop mural painted in the bus stop off the A4, opposite the Northey Arms, an attractive refurbished pub and inn, formerly the Box Station Inn / Railway Tavern.

It also planned to paint a mural at the Bassets bus stop which lies opposite the viewing platform to the iconic Box tunnel by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.’

Well done Varian, and good to see so much community involvement.
