Passed by the High Street end of The Corridor earlier this morning – Tuesday, April 29th.
Contractors are busy boxing in both sides of the ornate canopy.
I understand that only sections of it will be removed and sent away for repair. The rest of the work will be done on-site.

I would expect a planning application to be necessary for this work to be undertaken.
I haven’t seen one, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been one – and l have missed it?!
See comments below. It seems planning permission may not have been needed.
Hope local ward councillors are keeping an eye on this.
Certainly hope, for the benefit of Corridor businesses, that repairs are done swiftly.
Good to see you are keeping watch over this Richard – as a now retired building conservation officer i can confirm that provided these works are repairs to existing historic fabric and do not involve any alterations then listed building consent is not required (planning permission either)
I do appreciate your updates on Bath – keep up the good work
