Finishing the restoration of the Newark Works

[Artist’s impression of the complete scheme]

Looks like the last bit of renovation /restoration work on the old Newark Works buildings fronting the Lower Bristol Road could be underway soon.

The building with the ‘Newark Works’ sign is the one to be completed.

A planning application has been received by B&NES asking to vary slightly the conditions agreed upon for the internal and external alterations necessary to provide a creative employment workspace.

Buildings 1, 2 and 3 were completed in 2022 and are now occupied. Building 4 remains vacant and these works are due to begin later this year.

The variation refers to roof lights, solar panels and the positioning of condenser units.

  1. Good to see the final stages of my geat grandfather Thomas Fullers Newark Works being completed. I toured the complex in September 2023 and was impressed. I am completing a book on the Fullers including Thomas Fuller 1 Mayor of Bath 1861 Publication 2026
