Jolly’s update

All l can say is wow!

Yesterday l hinted at a forthcoming announcement from B&NES to say they had found an independent department store prepared to take over the former Jolly’s site in Milsom Street.

I am told the company wants to keep the Jolly’s name too!

That story registered 3,215 ‘hits’ and sent my stats soaring.

Elsewhere I have been accused of being ‘coy’ in not naming the company involved.

As a journalist, l respect my sources and – if l want to continue to be ‘in confidence’ with them – l will not break that rule.

I hope that the official B&NES announcement will be made soon.

  1. Please ignore them, you are one of the few posters I can believe which is sad so please keep going!

    Thanks

  2. Congrats, Richard!
Look forward to reading more as things develop. Strangely enough, we are in Bath next week and Jollys would have been on our list of shops!
‘ll give the site a well earned plug when I speak at the Weston Local History group with my slides- supported this time by my ex-Chron colleague, Jo Bayne who will fill in my memory gaps.

  3. Your update and position is appreciated. As you can tell, Jollys is very special to Bath people.
