Marion McNeir emailed me to tell me of her strong involvement in the partnership B&NES has with Oleksandriya in Ukraine .
“We have had various fundraising events in the three years since the Russian invasion including generators for the Children’s Hospital and in December over 200 local Bath and Ukrainian residents held a Wrapathon to wrap and send 5000 donated Christmas presents to children in Oleksandriya and altogether 12,000 went to bring a smile to children in war-torn areas of Ukraine .

We are holding another fundraising concert to mark the third anniversary of the Russian invasion with hugely talented Ukrainian musicians and our wonderful Voices for Life choir.”
Marion has sent me the official press release for the event.
The charitable association , the Friends of Oleksandriya, are organising a concert at Bath Abbey of Ukrainian music and visual art to mark the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Oleksandriya is B&NES’s partner city.

The programme will feature the famous pianist and composer Mariia Yaremak, and well-known local Ukrainian singer Nicole Medin – both of whom have enchanted Bath audiences at previous Abbey concerts.
The much loved Bath children’s choir, Voices for Life , will sing in Ukrainian and English and the Argyle String Orchestra will also perform Mariia’s work.
Well-known Ukrainian artist Alexandra Dikaia will create a painting during the concert to be auctioned at the end.
Tickets from Bath Box Office 01225 463362
All proceeds managed by Bath Rotary Club will be sent to Oleksandriya for humanitarian aid including medical supplies and buying a much-needed school bus .
