Open Plan?

Malcolm – one of my regular followers has been on a European tour but Bath has never been far from his mind – and that includes one of the city’s future schemes.

Malcolm writes: “So here’s a challenge for our new fashion museum!

Let’s see if we can create a truly radical contemporary ‘inner casket’ style of setting within the old post office for our outstanding fashion collection and certainly avoid the conventional.

Having just made a diversion on the way back to Calais, the lesser-known Louvre-Lens Museum (only an hour south of Calais and well worth the minor diversion) has certainly created a stunning spacious feel in its new “Gallery of Time”.

Incidentally, there must be some French luxury brands who might like some involvement with an internationally recognised fashion collection……..all good potentially for maintaining the entente cordiale!”

It looks like a great museum Malcolm – though l think it has a bigger floor space than the levels inside the old Bath Post Office.

B&NES has appointed architects, so let’s see what they come up with. However, we have to acknowledge that much of the collection would have to be in cabinets because of their age and fragility.

Thanks for your interest, and let’s see what others lo.
