I am more than a little miffed that, as of this morning, Thursday, December 19th, there are still seven days to Christmas Day but we are only getting our recycling collected – and NOT black bags.
A warning was a text message yesterday!?
All l can say is that, after the Festivities, there are going to be large piles of bin bags lying in wait!
Presumably the lorry was out of service at short notice, or there’s illness in the crews. Perhaps cut the cleansing dept a bit of slack – especially given they’ve improved a lot since taking rubbish/recycling back in house, and done a pretty good job on street cleaning this year?
They have been pretty good this year in my part of BA2. And disruptions tend to be at short notice and good if they can get a warning out, period. Text messages now being used by the Government for national emergencies.
This is so short sighted, people will get desperate, bins will overflow and people will put out the bags loose which will be ripped open by wild life and strewn around.
I hope this does not extend to the city centre where the streets are regularly strewn debris every Thursday
