Oh Cabaret!

Back in September, friends in Bristol invited us over to join them and enjoy a musical treat called The Secret Cabaret .

The venue was the old floating restaurant called The Glass Boat – now owned and re-imagined by the Six O’clock Gin Company. However this intimate musical gathering can trace its history back to 2017 when it was first held in the Piano Bar at the Bristol Hippodrome.

In no particular order, our entertainers were: Emma Griffiths, Charlie Morris, Amanda Board, Sam Board, Jane Williams and Toby Brewer.

What a setting this gathering in the Floating Harbour turned out to be for enjoying the vocal talents of a group of six accomplished singers who also oozed personality

I was so excited that when l bumped into Bath’s ‘Mr Music’ – musical director, choir leader and composer Matt Finch – l said couldn’t we do something like this in our city?

Ah, said Matt, it’s something l have been thinking about too!

Well, look what he has sent me today. A poster advertising two nights of fabulous musical cabaret in January, 2025/
