Well, this is looking ahead a bit l know, but as early January is usually spent repenting for all the over-indulging over the festive season, l thought l would just mention a New Year speaker coming to Bath.
It’s Professor Tim Spector OBE, one of the world’s most respected scientists, who is at the forefront of a food revolution and the author of bestselling books, including The Diet Myth, Spoon-Fed, Food for Life, Identically Different and his latest, Food for Life: Your Guide to the New Science of Eating Well.
He will be at The Forum on Tuesday 28 January from 7:30pm, giving his audience the chance to hear first-hand from the original pioneer of microbiome research and one of the top 100 most cited scientists in the world.
In his new book Food for Life, a Sunday Times bestseller featuring 100 recipes, Professor Spector offers clear answers in this definitive, easy-to-follow guide to the new science of eating well.
Tim Spector, is Professor of Epidemiology at King’s College, London and was honoured with an OBE for his impactful work during the pandemic in the fight against Covid-19. He is the co-founder of ZOE, the science and nutrition company.

Recently Professor Spector has been announced as one of the team investigating why there is a marked increase in cases of bowel cancer in people under 50 in the UK population.

About Tim Spector
Tim started cooking at a young age, enjoying his mother Juno’s lasagne at home and learning to cook Wiener schnitzel and apple strudel as a teenager working in an Austrian kitchen. As a young medic, he ate a typical junior doctor’s diet of snatched sandwiches and juices, not realising how bad they were for him nutritionally.
It was only when he had a mini-stroke in his fifties that he was inspired to improve his own health outcomes by focusing his scientific research on the groundbreaking area of nutrition and gut microbiome.
The Food For Life Cookbook takes the guidance and science of eating well and, in over 100 delicious recipes – in collaboration with ZOE’s nutritionists – shows just how simple and enjoyable it can be to adapt to a gut-friendly way of eating.
Discover how to transform your meals to support better health, longevity, and energy and hear Tim share his knowledge at this unique event. Tim’s approach is all about abundance, rather than cutting things out, and his mission is to help everyone make better food choices every day.
Join us for this unique opportunity to hear directly from one of the foremost experts in nutrition and take home practical, inspiring advice for every day cooking, and a beautiful recipe book too.
