Bath’s Mayor and The Rotary Club of Bathavon are once again encouraging artists to get their applications in now for the 2024 Annual Art Show, now in its 20th year.
Over those years there have been some amazing artists taking part – some skilled amateurs with a hobby they love – others fresh from art school and now internationally renowned.
This free exhibition is open to the public from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November at the Guildhall. There will be a wide range of over 100 paintings and drawings to appeal to all tastes, and at very competitive prizes.
Funds raised will be shared between The Mayor of Bath’s Relief Fund, which helps local people facing hard times, and this year’s Rotary President’s charity, Dorothy House.
The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Michelle O’Doherty, said: “On behalf of the Mayoralty and the Charter Trustees, I am delighted once again to be launching the Mayor & Rotary Art Show, a great occasion for amateur artists, students and others to display and sell their work, while supporting our charities.”

Semi-professional artists, members of amateur art groups, college and university students can all submit their work and keep 80% of the sale price, which must be a minimum of £30 and maximum of £400. The hanging fees will be £5 per painting, but this increases to £15 for paintings priced above £200. A Preview Evening (by invitation only) will be held on the Thursday evening, 31 October.
Visitors will be asked to select their favourite picture, or sculpture, and the ‘Turner Trophy’ will be presented to the artist whose painting is selected as ‘Best in Show’.
Application forms are available on the Charter Trustees’ website www.mayorofbath.co.uk or from the Guildhall Foyer information stand, or the Mayor’s Office,by emailing: mayorofbath@bathnes.gov.uk or Tel: 01225 477411.
