Sssssh – it’s a silent disco!

My first pair of headphones were made of bakelite and attached to a cat’s-whisker radio which captured sound waves from an aerial my dad managed to throw over our roof.

We’ve come a long and wire-less way since then, and headphones have almost become an essential part of outdoor Western dress code!

Having said that, they seem to be catching on for indoor gatherings and at the most unusual venues.

Bath’s historic Roman Baths and Guildhall are set to host the return of Silent (headphone-wearing) Discos this November and February, offering a unique night of music, dancing, and unforgettable experiences. Not sure – but l think you are expected to bring your own headgear.

Attendees will have the opportunity to dance to a diverse selection of music across two live channels, as well a pre-set playlist, catering to fans of everything from pop classics and rock anthems to Britpop hits. With DJs spinning everything from Bon Jovi to Blur, and with the impressive backdrop of these landmark sites, the events promise to be memorable.

At the Roman Baths, the evening begins with a complimentary cocktail beside the breathtaking Great Bath, followed by a silent disco in the historic Reception Hall. The next evening, the Guildhall’s grand Banqueting Room is the setting for another fun session, rounding off an exhilarating weekend of music and dance.

Ticket Information:

• Roman Baths: Standard tickets are £25, with a special bundle of 10 tickets available for £212.50.
• Guildhall: Standard tickets are £16, with a bundle of 10 tickets priced at £144.
