Thank you Bath Carnival!

Weatherwise, it could have been sunnier and warmer but, thanks to the hundreds of people who took part in this year’s Bath Carnival, a little bit of summer danced through our streets.

I decided (very carefully) to climb onto a seat – outside Jolly’s in Milsom Street – to watch the parade passing by.

Later on, with a slow moving procession, l managed to cut through the Covered Market to watch the ‘carnivalites’ coming back via the Grand Parade!

Is that our MP on the bus? Bath’s Wera Hobhouse getting into the groove.

At the other end of Great Pulteney Street, Sydney Gardens offered several music stages and lots of ‘eateries’ for the festival atmosphere to continue into the night.

Good luck with the clearing up today folks, but well done to all those who took part.

I had to smile as one of the city’s many ‘hen parties’ tagged on to the end of the procession.

I upload video packages to YouTube – where there is more storage space than l can supply – but that does mean there can be a ‘copyright’ issue with recorded music.

I am afraid this affected my footage of the youngsters from the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts as those cyber algorithms picked yup a recognisable ‘fee paying’ tune!

We can see you, but the music has had to be taken out. Sorry.

Here we go!
