A sneak preview of the memorial to the Commander of the First Fleet, Admiral Arthur Phillip, which is being unveiled today at 11 am in Sydney Gardens.

The sculpture – which celebrates the First Governor of New South Wales and founder of Modern Australia – has been moved from its original location beside the Assembly Rooms.
Admiral Phillip retired to Bath and is buried in St Nicholas Church at Bathampton.
The ceremony is open to all and the location is through the side entrance to the park via Sydney Road.
