Bath Bach Choir will be performing at Bath Abbey on Saturday 6 July.
The Choir is dedicating this concert to the memory of its much-loved former Musical Director, Nigel Perrin (4 November 1947 – 23 June 2024).

For 33 years from 1990 to 2022, he brought inspirational leadership to Bath Bach Choir, striving for the best, most creative performances, realising the potential of individuals and the group.
To mark the 300th anniversary of the first performance of Bach’s thrilling Magnificat, the Choir will be joined by the Geldart Ensemble, who will also play his Orchestral Suite No 3, featuring the famous Air on a G string.
The Choir will perform two pieces by Bach’s near-contemporary, Marianna Martines, much admired in her day by Haydn and Mozart. Dixit Domimus is considered her masterpiece, and her rarely performed Laudate will be recorded for the first time at Saturday’s performance.
