Bath between the Wars.

I recently spent an enjoyable half an hour, in Parade Gardens, chatting to a very intelligent and charming 83-year-old man who has spent the past five years of his life putting together an account of our city and its people in that turbulent period of recent history between the two world wars.

David Williamson is a retired history teacher who is no stranger to detailed research and writing.

This book deals with everything from demobilisation, the role of women, industry, tourism, the arrival of mass radio and the motor car, and external influences like the Depression and fascism.

It is a fascinating read and David is a colourful character.
