June is Pride Month – a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities all around the world and a time to raise awareness to the fact that not all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people enjoy the same equal rights as we do here.
It’s a time to celebrate what the gay righjts movement has achieved and to be proud of who we are.
My husband and l were lucky enough to be in Bordeaux, France on Saturday, June lst – the day this French city holds its annual parade.
We’ve got one coming up in Bath on the 18th of August and – while it won’t be anything like as big as the event in Bordeaux – you’ve got to start somewhere, and it can only grow and grow! They are also organising a family picnic at the Holburne Museum.

Despite a shower or two, more than a thousand people took to the streets of Bordeaux and here’s a snapshot of the event.
