Cycled down Sydney Place this morning. It’s the road running alongside Sydney Gardens and leads on from Sydney Road.
We’ve got new bollards at the bottom which prevent vehicles from coming up that side now. Must say it makes for a safer road for us two-wheelers.
However, this is the road upon which l did a frontal somersault when the bike wheel caught in an ice-filled rut. The road surface is still dreadful. Every time utilities dig a trench the infill always sinks too far and creates an uneven surface.
I am not passing comment on the rights and wrongs of this ‘trial’ but will draw your attention to another Liveable Neighbourhood city scheme and the thoughts of a guest contributor to the Walk Ride Bath website.
