Make us laugh!

There’s no getting around it. We could all do with a laugh at the present time. Whether it’s the cost of living or climate change and the constant rain – life can be rather depressing.

So it’s good to know the city will be literally ringing with laughter during three whole weeksin April with the launch of this year’s Bath Comedy Festival.

The Festival – which hosts other events throughout the year – has been running for sixteen years now, and it’s basically all down to the work put in by one man.

Nick Steel is the Festival Director. He also works part time at The Ram in Widcombe – which is where l caught up with him – so you’ll have to excuse the background noise.

It’s a busy pub and even more so now the Widcombe Deli is sharing space with the optics and beer pumps!

This concentrated Easter festival of laughter is one of the biggest and best he has ever organised but he is on the look out for new sponsors to ensure the show can go on. It’s a costly undertaking and that is no laughing matter.

Here’s the whole programme for you to look through!
