A friend has kindly pointed out the following update on Ollie the canal-based bike repairman.
He has a Facebook page, and has written:
Trade Tuesday: Reopening on land, in mid-March.
“I will be moving into a building on @undercliffurbanfarm and hope to be up and running within a couple of weeks. Huge thanks to Nat for his support and providing the space to make this possible.
Working from Undercliff Farm will mean I don’t have to have my boat where there are customers and can commute in from outside of the Bath to Bradford area, which the CRT has a problem with me being in.
I will still be challenging the CRT over their decision and want to be able to trade from the boat again in the future. However, this will also allow me to keep trading, sooner than what is resolving the issues with the CRT will take.
I will update you when I have an opening date. In the meantime, if you want parts or accessories, please get in touch, but repairs will have to wait until I reopen.”
The Canal and River Trust has not responded to my request for comment.
