The Bath in Bloom organisation is gearing up to celebrate 60 successful years of participation in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom competition.

They tell me they have some new and inspiring initiatives in mind for this year to hopefully add to their many Gold successes.

On top of that, Bath in Bloom says it’s honoured to have been chosen by the Royal Horticultural Society to host the regional South West in Bloom Awards 2024 Ceremony.

It is anticipated somewhere in the region of three hundred representatives from participating groups will attend the event. This will be a wonderful opportunity for sharing and appreciating the efforts carried out by volunteers throughout the region and to welcome these visitors to Bath’s lovely city.

As one of the oldest and the most successful entrant in this national competition, Bath has a lot to live up to. Since its inauguration in 1964 (when Bath won the first of many Gold Awards) this voluntary group has gone from strength to strength.

As well as enhancing and maintaining key areas in the centre of Bath, Bath in Bloom will continue supporting the fantastic community groups developing and maintaining local areas and parks. Working in partnership with BANES Parks Department and Bath Businesses Improvement District Bath in Bloom will also continue to play a vital role in making Bath a beautiful and inviting place to live in and visit. With many events planned, Bath in Bloom hopes to make 2024 a very special year for all to enjoy.

The organisation says we should look forward to hearing more about Bath in Blooms plans for celebrating 60 wonderful years of horticultural and floral success and to learning how we could participate in and enjoy our local and national competitions.
