It’s the Year of the Dragon!

Chinese New Year falls on February 10th this year – and 2024 is the Year of the Dragon.

The Dragon enjoys a very high reputation in Chinese culture and it has represented auspiciousness and imperial power since ancient times.

Chinese people regard themselves as descendants of the Chinese dragon and emperors entitled themselves exclusively as the ‘dragon’. It is the token of authority, dignity, honour, success, luck, and capacity.

Bath’s Museum of East Asian Art is not going to be left out of the celebrations – as you can see below! It opens its museum facilities for the season with a family-focused exhibition for you to get your dragon’s teeth into.

  1. This museum is a real hidden gem in Bath. Everyone living in Bath & beyond should visit it.
Exquisite ceramics, wonderful exhibitions; and without doubt, the very best museum shop in the South West.
And amazingly – only £2.50 to visit for Discovery Card locals !
