Pics of the day. January 1st, 2024

[My thanks to Richard Lucking for most of the illustrations]

The River Avon may flow through the ages ( and the centre of Bath) but its currently looking more like liquid chocolate from Willy Wonka’s factory as constant rain increases its volume and turns it to the colour of Mississippi mud!

But maybe these graceful birds remind me of another American river – the ‘old Swannee’ or, more correctly than those song lyrics from George Gershwin’s first hit song, the Suwannee of South Georgia.

Another wet day in store to welcome in 2024.

A few years ago ( ha ha) when l missed out on Christmas with the flu.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
