Saving the day

[Davide Basso saves the show]

All great opera stories feature something that goes wrong which only singing will solve.

Well, writes Fiona Gray, ‘with only a few weeks to go before opening night at The Mission Theatre in Bath, Cardiff Opera found itself without its leading man in their production of Puccini’s La bohème. Luckily, Italian tenor Davide Basso was ready to jump in and save the day.’

Davide is regularly seen in London performing in opera, oratorio and recital. Before re-training in classical singing, Davide was a successful jazz vocalist, and performed as a soloist and in ensembles around the world. He joins an incredibly talented team under the direction of Katie Blackwell who bring the tragic love story of Rodolfo and Mimi to life.

With beautiful music, talented singers and lots of laughter and tears, this production brings a little bit of Italy to Bath.

If you would like to see La bohème,  performances at The Mission Theatre run from Thursday 14th Dec to Sunday 17th Dec and are available via this link:
