Winter warmer

An invitation from the Argyle String Orchestra to join them for an evening of classical music on Thursday, November 30th at St Luke’s Church at Wellsway.

A chance to see their new conductor, Adam Laughton in action too with a range of pieces by Beethoven, Telemann, Nielsen, Rachmaninov and other composers and, of course, Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Adam is a conductor and arts facilitator based in Frome and is delighted to be conducting his first Argyle concert. Alongside other musical commitments with ensembles and organisations across the region, Adam is the Director of the Frome Festival and Programme Manager at Wiltshire Music Centre.

Sara Stagg will be the soloist for the evening. Formerly leader of the Argyle, Sara makes frequent solo appearances with many orchestras as well as leading a number of ensembles including North Wiltshire Symphony Orchestra, the Bath Spa String Quartet and Bath Concertino. Sara is currently Head of Strings at Marlborough College.

Tickets are available in advance through TicketSource or on the door. Adults £10 (£9 plus booking fee online); no charge for accompanied children. An array of festive refreshments will be on offer during the interval.

This is sure to be a popular event, so arrive early to get a seat.
