Pic of the day. Sunday, August 20th

Recognise the doorway? Yes, the entrance to what was King Edward’s School in Broad Street. A listed building now owned by a Yorkshire brewery which has stood empty for thirty years.

Bath Newseum follower Paul Bennett happened to be passing and spotted workmen moving in and out of a now open front door.

Just like l would have done, he asked what was up? Apparently he was told they were there to ‘make the building safe’ and had fixed the roof and were working on a room downstairs.

I think most people would join me in saying it’s about time the long-term owners either converted the building to their purpose or put it back on the market so it can be brought back to life by someone else. Enough time has passed.
