Bike stands are for bikes and not bags? There were more there when l locked my bike nearby this morning but, in defence, seems the bags are as a result of council pressure to use these gull- resistant containers to prevent bags of refuse from being broken open.
While the bags could be collected by their owners a little earlier – a councillor l bumped into – said the area around the bike stands was the cleanest he had seen it in months.
Seems, doing the right thing works and the gulls cannot add to street litter at this point.
It is humans that create the food source for these birds. Reduce the immediate availability and the gulls will be forced to look elsewhere.
Someone must have seen me take this picture because when l came out of Waitrose it had been cleared up. Looked like a domestic refuse bag to me too!
