You’re right to suggest that the Guildhall could operate as a tourist office. As a local Blue Badge Guide I’m ashamed of how visitor facilities here have deteriorated in the city since I came here in 2006. Particularly with overseas visitors my colleagues and I often make a joke out of telling them that despite the fact that we are a double World Heritage Site and a major tourist destination we have no coach park, no public toilets and no tourist information office. You couldn’t make it up.
